Our mission philosophy, values, skills, & experiences
Our practice around occupational, physiotherapy, speech and language and recreation therapy is informed by proven and established scholarship. Our practice is evidence-based and research-based. We understand the philosophy, theoretical concepts, models and frameworks of rehabilitation. We holistically approach our practice.
We have supported our clients/patients in different languages (Cantonese, Spanish, Portuguese, and English). We have experience dealing with patients with different communication impairments, such as aphasia, dementia, and Parkinson's,
We practice and deliver therapy sessions based on professional values and attitudes.
RAs (OTAs, PTAs, and SLPAs) spend numerous 1-on-1 sessions with clients/patients; they become acquainted with those clients, their conditions, impediments, and abilities. Thus, we become their advocates when therapists create treatment plans.
We practice curiosity and innovation. Through engaged dialogue, critical feedback, and innovative thinking and action, we create open and inviting environments. We offer creative solutions to our client's challenges and solve problems.
We create safe environments for clients, where they can feel supported and can achieve success. For instance, we practice equality and inclusion in our therapy sessions. We regularly check our biases so we do not unintentionally discriminate against our patients. We apply trauma-informed practice (TIP) in our therapy sessions. We emphasized physical, psychological and emotional safety for our patients and their families
We practice equality & inclusion. We respect diversity of people ideas, and actions. We believe that everyone has equal opportunities for healing and therapy.
We believe in building strong communities through compassion and collaboration. In the past, we have done several collaborations with therapists, social workers, community leaders, governments, and others.
